             businesses. The name ‘Angel Construction’ goes beyond being a brand;
it’s a heartfelt tribute to Angela, whose influence and support has played a
pivotal role in the company’s ascent. Initially distanced from the companies WHITTAKER
due to her managing role at Bendigo Bank, Angela finally stepped on board
in late February 2023 and hasn’t looked back since. Beyond her business
responsibilities, Angela serves as a guiding force, fostering a positive work
             culture within the company.
As both best friends and a married couple, the duo values open communication

Both single parents, Angela with two boys and Adrian with two girls, the
couple quickly found harmony. Their children, introduced within a couple of
months, formed an instant bond. A whirlwind journey led them to Las Vegas
within 17 months, where they tied the knot.
Their connection with Port Douglas began after a visit for the Ironman in
2014. Captivated by the charm of the town, they couldn’t shake the thought
of calling it home. After several visits, Angela secured a role with Bendigo
Bank, while Adrian took a six-month hiatus to prepare for an Ultraman
             Competition in Hawaii.
A noteworthy aspect of Adrian is his transformative shift in 2007, from a
self-described couch potato to a fervent enthusiast of running and triathlons,
driven by a commitment to enhance his health. Evolving into a seasoned
athlete, he has since participated in numerous Ultra Mans, Ironmans,
             marathons, and world championships.
Juggling two successful businesses forced Adrian to dial back on sports
temporarily. Nevertheless, he’s gradually rekindling his involvement and
continues to assist others in achieving their Ironman and marathon goals.
Every morning before work, Adrian and Angela hit the local gym at 4.30am,
sharing a quiet breakfast together. This early routine serves as a special time for
them to chat without distractions, fostering a meaningful connection amidst
             their busy schedules.
As for Angela, she’s not one to sit still either. Her artistic endeavours extend
to theatre productions and her role in the band DNA. Juggling her love for
music with professional responsibilities, she’s a driving force at the Clink
theatre. Simultaneously, Adrian lends his skills by constructing sets in his
             ‘spare’ time.
Community contribution is a shared passion, which is also evident through
their sponsorship of the Port Douglas Crocs and The Port Douglas Raiders
Rugby Club. And if that is not enough community involvement yet, Adrian’s
run club every Tuesday morning at 5.30am at the Surf Club continues to

For this couple, Port Douglas embodies the spirit of a small country town
where everyone looks out for each other. What they love the most is the perfect
climate, which encourages most activities, including entertaining, to happen
outdoors. It’s an inviting place for friends and family to visit, and while three
of their kids have built careers in Western Australia they are eagerly cherishing
holidays in Port Douglas. Meanwhile, their youngest son resides at home,
following in his father’s footsteps by completing his final year in carpentry.
This powerful couple’s journey in Port Douglas, whether navigating their
flourishing businesses, participating in community initiatives, or connecting
with both locals and visitors, has been a tapestry of enriching experiences. The
couple takes immense joy in being part of this happy place, feeling privileged
             to call it home.
