Tahitian Lime is also a testament to the support of the whole
family. Despite being mothers (Prue to Juke aged 7 and
Brooke to Leo aged 4), their partners have been nothing
but supportive. Brooke’s husband (Marine Manager and
talented carpenter) created the shelving and front desk from
repurposed wood from an old tobacco shop in Atherton.
Prue’s partner is a trained RM Williams saddler (and builder)
and using his 100-year-old tools, styles bags for the shop, that
literally fly off the shelf as fast as he can craft them.
Tahitian Lime continues to go from strength to strength
and at present they have 16 stockists in Australia and one
in New Zealand. Their inspiration is to have their swimwear
range featured at the Miami Swim Week. This is the ultimate
showcase for all the top swimwear buyers worldwide.
The brand has also recently been popular with visiting
celebrities - Katy Perry and Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha
from Vikings), who purchased various swimwear items from
the range.
The brand’s trajectory and potential are stratospheric. When
asked how they would like to see Tahitian Lime develop, in
unison their answer was “global domination!”
How proud Port Douglas has to be, to be the home of this
creative fashion seed and to see Tahitian Lime being nurtured,
grown and flourishing in our own tropical backyard.
