After a six-month successful trial in a Palm Cove store following a
250 people launch party, it was decided to move Tahitian Lime to
Port Douglas.
In 2017 both families in a giant leap of faith moved to Port Douglas.
Tahitian Lime is one of the most eclectic stores along Macrossan
Street (opposite Port Village Shopping Centre). A welcoming smile
from Brooke or Prue as you enter (and step past the sleeping forms
of furry attendants, Frankie Alabama the Pomeranian and Esmerelda
Coconut the Chihuahua) starts the relaxed shopping experience.
They have expanded their range to include designers and fashion from
LA, Paris, and East Coast Australia. A new print design is produced
every two months and they have extended their swimwear range to
include body suits. They also design their own range of clothes now
(launching this July), as well as swimwear, that they sell directly from
their store and online worldwide.
They are loving their decision to live here and are blown away by
the wonderful community that Port Douglas is, and how supportive
the other retailers are. During the pandemic the locals’ kindness
overwhelmed them as they continued to support them by buying
online. Since the store was closed, the girls turned their creativity to “the biggest adventure yOu can take
producing stunning videos including locals and themselves as models is tO live the life Of yOur dreams”
(in all shapes and sizes) that have created online sales worldwide.
