SCREEN INDUSTRY the $12.6 million Screen Queensland Studios
This project is not only about creating compelling television but also about in Cairns”
fostering local talent and contributing to the growth of the screen industry
in Far North Queensland. The “Tastes of the Tropics” initiative, developed by
Screen Queensland aimed to support mid-career filmmakers by providing
resources and mentorship to bring creative visions to life.
We cannot speak highly enough of supervising producer Karen Warner,
whose extensive industry experience proved invaluable throughout the AN INVITATION
production process. From script development and approval to final edit And to all those eager to join the culinary journey of “Taste of The Tropics”
picture lock, Karen was instrumental in achieving our vision. now streaming on SBS On Demand, from the mangroves to the rainforest,

From Dive Club and Fool’s Gold to Aquamarine and Paradise Road, this

However, the “Tastes of the Tropics” initiative comes at an exciting time
for the screen industry in Far North Queensland, with the opening of the
$12.6 million Screen Queensland Studios in Cairns. With the new studio
facilities in Cairns, more opportunities will be created for local talent to
showcase creativity and contribute to the vibrant screen industry in Far
North Queensland.
The team and I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of
the screen industry in Far North Queensland, and we are honoured to play
a part in its journey.
