note.
Leaving England over 20 years ago I opted to take the scenic route and despite enjoying many adventures
along the way, the allure of this part of the world with its picturesque landscapes and laid back lifestyle
proved hard to beat. Calling Port Douglas home ever since, I consider myself very fortunate.
So what does a holiday in Far North Queensland look like? As we look forward to Spring and Summer
you will find a plethora of things to enjoy. For adventure seekers, there’s plenty to explore—whether on
foot, wheels, water, horseback, or even up in the sky. If peace and quiet is more your style, find a cosy
nook to enjoy the latest page turner (with a coffee, of course), claim your own slice of the beach, try a
local yoga class, or finally book that massage or facial you’ve been promising yourself.
Travelling with good company, be it yourself, friends or loved ones, now all you need are great options
to eat, drink and be social. Good news, we are experts at celebrating this pastime! Whether it’s a leisurely
family breakfast, a long lunch, happy hour with sunset views, or dinner under the stars, we are incredibly
fortunate to have so many beautiful experiences to share.
Being the green season, we also recommend this is best enjoyed with nature in mind. Referred to by
some as ecotherapy or green therapy, immerse yourself in beautiful flora and fauna and marvel at the vibrant colours and flavours as you
savour your first taste of tropical fruit—who knew something could be so divine? Don’t miss the opportunity to jump in, float, or paddle
through some of the freshest, most pristine waters on the planet. Your body and mind will thank you; it’s relaxation in its purest form,
leaving you feeling truly invigorated.
Nowhere to be, just enjoying the present moment. Perfection!
Now all that is left to do is casually leaf through this magazine. Inside, you’ll find insights into local life, the people, history, and tips on
how to experience the very best our region has to offer—perfect for any traveller’s bucket list!
And remember, whoever coined the phrase blue and green should never be seen, has clearly never set foot in Far North Queensland!
You will be pleasantly surprised by how much, or little, there is to do.
So, whatever you choose to do
Enjoy your time,
Sarah
