note.
With its natural beauty and laid-back charm, Port Douglas is a wonderful destination for a holiday.
With endless kilometres of natural coastline to explore and trails that weave their way through pristine rainforest,
step goals become a pleasure and adventures are aplenty. As you inhale the fresh clean air, you momentarily
wonder if the locals have any inkling of rush hour? Exhale, you let go and you begin to relax and slip into the
Port Douglas way of life. Welcome to the start of your holiday.
In a world that seems to revolve at a pace that keeps our little feet running, a clear perspective can often falter.
Maybe it is time to stop and reflect? What do you need and want from this holiday?
It may be just that, time … for personal self-care or to create memories with your special people. We have a
plethora of places to explore, activities abound, retail therapy and delicious local produce. Savour it and let
our talented teams create unforgettable gourmet experiences. Maybe some of you are seeking more adventure?
Take to the water, sky, road, or beach, immerse yourself in nature and wildlife encounters, hit a festival or why
not learn about the Kuku Yalanji people and experience indigenous culture? Feel the connection to you and to
country. Rejuvenate your body and mind and expand your horizons to create long lasting memories.
I have always loved to travel, and I sincerely hope our girls will have the curiosity and courage to explore. After a 16-year hiatus, this year will see
me set foot back in Blighty and I am so looking forward to catching up with family and friends in the UK.
Reflecting upon the upcoming trip, two things spring to mind. I am looking forward to regaling adventures from FNQ. Sharing with my
parents the genuine warmth and generosity the Douglas community offers and the gratitude I hold dear for the good life Port has provided for
our family.
And then, there’s the weather. It will be spring in England when I arrive. Full of hope, speared on by mum’s comment, “It’s warming up nicely,”
I decided to check the forecast. The current temperature, 4 degrees! I love the optimism mum, but my second thought may just be,
“I miss 26 degrees and Winter …. in the Tropics!”
Here’s to holidays!
And wherever your journey takes you.
Enjoy your time
